Julia Dunn Completes FSS Program

Kinston Housing is pleased to announce that Julia Dunn successfully completed the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program. Julia transitioned out of public housing in February 2023, and plans to become a homeowner within the next two years. Julia prepared herself for financial independence by increasing her income and raising her credit scores by paying off debt while following her budgeting plan. Congratulations, Julia!

The purpose of the program is to assist families in completing measurable goals in education, financial training, and job training with emphasis on improving earning potential and developing credit readiness.

Over the course of the multi-year program, FSS participants work to become financially independent of public assistance and move toward homeownership.
