At Kinston Housing Authority we believe that the foundation of strong communities is built on investing in future generations. On May 30, 2026, the event highlighted the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.) while fostering confidence and a passion for learning, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. Students explored hands-on experiments, interactive learning stations, and educational exhibits while being exposed to future educational and career opportunities

KHA staff participated in the Kinston Police Department’s annual Law Enforcement Torch Run. Each year law enforcement officers around the country come together to raise public awareness and raise funds for the Special Olympics movement.

KPD hosted National Night Out on October 1, 2024.

The Carter Clinic, PA Presented a Mental Health Awareness Fair on September 5th, 2024 at the Kinson Office.

The inaugural Kinston STEAM Day, sponsored by Hope to Destiny for Youth, was held on June 1, 2024, from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM EST at the Holloway Community Center (101 N. Myrtle Ave, Kinston, NC 28501). Kinston STEAM Day is a celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics designed to ignite curiosity and inspire creativity in young aspiring scholars.

On May 16, 2024, KHA, the Kinston Police Department, and other organizations participated in the Torch Run. Individuals ran/walked from Fairfield Park to the Caswell Center in Kinston, NC.
